Primark is one of Lewisham's major stores and the area would be much poorer without it. Primark stocks the locals with affordable, fashionable casual and office wear.

It can get exceptionally busy in this branch and the queues can be huge at the tills. When they have decent clothing for under £5 that I wouldn't mind wearing out occasionally, you can understand why the queues get so long.

Alongside T.K Maxx, Primark is one of few reasons Lewisham is worth visiting.

I tend to go to the Primark in Marble Arch (well when I can be bothered), but once in a while when I'm in Lewisham I will have a rummage to see if they have anything new.

Sometimes you'll be in luck and there will be that dress or top in size 8, but other times they'll be loads of styles you like but nothing in your size which can be frustrating.

Nevertheless, for bargain underwear, socks, vests and tee's you can't really go wrong. You can easily walk out with a huge bag of shopping and not have paid more than £30.

It can get particularly busy at the weekend, and sometimes you question whether it's worth queuing for those £2 socks..

Where can you go nowadays and not be confronted with Primark? That uber-store of cheap clothes, the warehouse vendor that makes shopping a living hell and where you come away with so much stuff you'll never wear, just because it's cheap.

This branch of the ubiquitous store is no better than any other branch if I'm honest, apart from that it's slightly quieter. I really feel bad about buying clothes from these places, because I keep watching documentaries about third world labour, and cannot fathom how a pair of tracksuit trousers can cost less than a sandwich. But they exist, so they must be meeting some kind of set of trading standards.

Aside from this ethical issue, the stuff you get is invariably of pretty shoddy quality. I mean, you really do get what you pay for. I got some pants recently that were horrid. How can you get pants wrong? I think they used to be better, but recently, I think Primark has gone to the dogs.

One of the larger out-of-Oxford-Street Primarks, this spacious, two storey building seems almost to be having a direct face-off with the large Peacocks almost directly opposite.

If Primark wins your battle of the cut price fashion war, on the ground floor, you will find gents, ladies and homeware. The first floor is children's clothes, and a huge lingerie department.

Like all Primark stores, the jumpers and jeans are unfolded and sprawled across the standing units, and there is an element of jumble sale

This store is invariably packed all day every day, and seems to have magical double pushchair attracting powers, making negotiating your way around the score more like slalom than shopping. Also, don't ever go there on a Friday at 3.30, when all the local schoolgirls are excitedly choosing what they're going to wear to the weekend's parties

This branch of Primark is acceptable, but it could benefit from a refit. When I step inside, it just feels too dark and cavernous for me. As it is a smaller than the Bromley branch, there is understandably less choice. As a result, I would only visit this branch if I am in the mood and am happening to be passing by the place, otherwise I wouldn't bother. My only other gripe about this store is that it is too messy, with brand new clothes lifted and dropped on the shop floor. That's not necessarily the fault of the staff though, but it isn't very nice nonetheless.
