The Barber de Seville

Really cool group of guys, and thankfully, good at cutting hair!

I recently popped in as part of yelp's #SecretBrixton event and got treated to some 'manpering'. I began with a beard trim by a dude with a crew cut, followed by a rather spiffing haircut from another dude with a strong beard and an envy-inducing hipster tache, and finally had my hair styled post-cut by the owner.

The team are very speedy, with a good level of banter. The beard trim was quite good, but the straight razor could have cut closer around the neckline, the haircut was good and so too was the brief styling.

It's always scary getting a haircut from someone new, but I'm overjoyed to say they did a good job, and I'd definitely consider going back.

The perils of using a new barber. Thankfully this place was a great find. I've been twice now since moving to the area and both times have had good cuts (scissor cut is £14).

First time was with a blonde lady, who was very good. But more recently I had a cut from a guy called Sam who looks quite young and has a crew cut. He works Thu-Sun, is very friendly, and cuts a good trim. Recommended.

Im a regular customer here, they provide exactly the right level of service, speed, attention to detail and the price is right. The shop is very stylish and the staff are friendly. The haircuts have always been exactly what I was after, and the best thing is the opening hours, they are always open when i need them!

First thing a barber should learn is to listen. I literally asked for my (fairly long) hair to be tidied up. The guy proceeded to give me the same hipster haircut he gives everyone. In some cases he actually did the opposite of what I asked. I should have said something straight away but I didn't. However, I went home and looked at it, it was so bad I decided to go back and say something. I politely waited until the guy was alone and discreetly asked, not for a refund but just that he cut my hair completely short. He immediately started arguing aggressively with me in the shop. Actually telling me what I had said and that he had done exactly what I has asked. He actually told me what I had said! I was really shocked, as what I had asked for was not even close to what he had done. I just couldn't believe how rude he was. He then just cut it short kind of throwing his eyes up like a small child at what I had asked, as if I didn't have the right to decide what my own should be like. He was aggressive, incompetent and Rude.

Very dependent on who you get. Some are excellent, others less so. The guy with muscles in particular clearly doesn't want to be there and it shows

Great hair cut...been there for a year now and the quality only improves...highly recommended.
