The Goose

This is my friend's local pub & he likes it for the cheap beer. A pint of larger is just over 3 quid & you can't beat that price. It's not a posh place & you will find very down to earth people here. Weekend evenings the music is on & people started dancing before 10pm. The music is mostly pop/R&B/commercial hiphop.

It's probably not a place for the upper middle class. But it seems to be quite busy with locals.

I previously criticised The Goose for the state of disrepair it had fallen into. I'm pleased to say that the much needed refurbishment has now been done and it is clean and modern inside, no more sticking to the floor as you wait at the bar.

Always seems to be fairly busy in here, probably due to the competitive prices and proximity to both the bus and train stations. They have a pool table and a multitude of big TV screens showing a constant array of muted sport. Auditory entertainment is courtesy of a jukebox on the wall.

Outside are several tables and umbrellas for the summer months and the hardened winter smokers.

Staff are friendly and the service is good. Despite there always bring a queue at the bar they always seem to get through it quickly to get you served.

Decent speeds on The Cloud wifi too.

I visited the Goose the other evening as I fancied a change.
I wanted to eat rather than drink and I was a bit dubious as it is a place to drink in Bracknell.
The bar staff were very friendly and helpful, I placed my food order which was very cheap and it was delivered quickly and was really nice.
It is worth going and I will be going again.

Pros The Goose is ideally situated next to the station and close to the town centre, perfect for a quick drink after work before heading home or after some shopping. The pub is quite large with some outside space, and has plenty of seating as well as some fruit machines. There's a wide range of beer and other drinks available.


Cons The clientele can be a little rough, especially on a Friday and Saturday night, so don't go if you're expecting high-class or a particularly quiet night.

Located near Bracknell Station, its a convienant place to start before catching a train to Reading. The drinks are cheap, proberbly the cheapest in Bracknell and they do cocktails. They have an extensive food menu which is good quality and again amazingly cheap.

Very cheap but you get what you pay for. Atmosphere good but a bit chavvy. £2.30~ a double with mixer will always keep it busy. Food okay, but generally microwave
