First of all, I should preface this by saying that I am not inclined to give negative reviews unless my experience is extremely bad. My feeling is that if a business makes a good faith effort to deliver the services that they have promised, then it is unreasonable to undermine their reputation. Being a paying customer doesn't imply that the business has to service my every desire, and I have never held the threat of a negative review over a business's head. But given the awful experience that I had at this establishment, I would definitely like to warn others.
In addition to the 30 euros entry fee, I had intended to get a massage and have dinner at the restaurant. Altogether, I was prepared to pay 150 euros or more when the day was done. An hour after I arrived at the sauna, I was exploring the offerings and I discovered an open room with a sunbed. Because there were no signs or posts indicating otherwise, I decided to use it for 10 or 15 minutes. While I was inside, someone locked the door from the outside without my knowing. Fortunately, after I had used the sunbed for a few minutes, another patron of the sauna was walking by and heard me knocking loudly at the door, attempting to get someone's attention so that I could be let out (I was trapped for 20 minutes).
When the attendant finally came to let me out, rather than politely explaining to me that using the sunbed would require extra costs (which I would have happily paid), he blocked my exit from the room with his body and accused me of deliberately attempting to get away with using the sunbed without paying. He was extremely belligerent, even going so far as to tap me aggressively on the chest.
To be fair, the lady with whom I talked at the front desk when I entered the facility was very friendly, and I had the impression that most of the staff was decent. Nevertheless, if you go to this facility, just be prepared for the possibility that you will encounter a staff person with an enormous chip on his shoulder. If your intention is to relax, I suggest going to a place where there is no possibility of being treated aggressively by a staff member.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ilse D.Brussel, Région de Bruxelles-Capitale27128 aug 2014
Nice place to relax and wind down, also after work thanks to the long opening hours (midnight). It does tend tone calmer after 8. Good restaurant. When it's busy it can be a bit slow in service but the food is great. Nice variety of saunas. Especially nice and unique is the alps sauna where there is snow walking in. Just like spending time in the mountains. Definitely worth it! Also the ceremonies are very good. Only downside would be the use of the keys- to be deposited in a bucket at the bar so may be not the safest solution, compared to other spas. But all in all a nice place to relax!
